More than a scientific meeting, YWF is a movement, uniting clinicians, researchers, advocates, and multidisciplinary experts to address the unique biological, ethical, emotional, and societal dimensions of care.

Friends, and Advocates,
It is with great warmth and profound gratitude that we thank you for being part of the Young Women’s Forum (YWF) 2026. This year’s gathering embodied our shared commitment to deepening the global conversation around the unique experiences of young women affected by breast cancer, not only through the lens of science, but through the lived realities that shaped quality of life, hope, and humanity in care.
At YWF 2026, we were honoured to explore topics that pushed boundaries beyond traditional clinical frameworks and delved into the heart of what mattered to patients, caregivers, and clinicians alike. These included the ethics of young women’s care, the critical yet complex decisions around fertility preservation even in advanced stages of disease, and the long-term impact of treatment on daily living. We reflected on the question: after five years of treatment, how much were we truly considering the whole person behind the diagnosis? Through thoughtful sessions on journeys, not just protocols, we sought to elevate insight, compassion, and meaningful dialogue.
The forum served as a platform for collaboration, reflection, and transformative learning. Together, we honoured patient voices, challenged assumptions, and convened multidisciplinary minds to shape a future in which care is both evidence-based and deeply human. We hoped that every participant left inspired to integrate ethical perspectives, quality-of-life considerations, and a fuller appreciation of the patient experience into their practice and advocacy.

Rebecca Dent
Singapore
Senior Consultant and Chief of Breast Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, Dr Rebecca Dent is an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. Her research focuses on locally advanced and triple-negative breast cancer, and she leads multiple international clinical trials in breast cancer treatment.
Tira Tan
Singapore
Dr Tira Tan is a breast oncologist and clinical investigator at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, serving as Deputy Director of Research and Clinical Trials. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School with expertise in breast and gynaecologic oncology.
Shaheenah Dawood
UAE
Dr Shaheenah Dawood is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Professor in Clinical Oncology, specializing in breast cancer. Trained at McGill University and MD Anderson Cancer Center, she is widely published, an NEJM editorial fellow, and holds an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health.

Singapore
Dr Ma Jun is a Consultant Breast Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, with a clinical focus on breast cancer management and a special interest in treating young women with breast cancer.
